We started our journey early in the morning that Friday and arrived just around the time the participants arrived. Here's kak Nab doing her round of the briefing for the programme
Ni pulak barisan participants. They were already divided into 8 groups with each group with around 10 members each. Siap baju kaler lain² tu untuk group lain².
This one pulak the accompanying teachers.
..and this one pulak semase kak Nab memperkenalkan fasi² kpd setiap kumpulan ☺
After the ta'aruf session, the participants were to set up their tents. Di sini cam sedikit tak aci coz the fasi sumer tido in a chalet. Tp ok la kan, not a well equipped one at that, only provided us with a roof and a door je la so maybe la kot lebey kurang like a tent <--boley ke kire camtu? Hahah..
Anyway, we went there to help with the set up of the students tents. I was a bit excited coz the last time I ever set up a tent was when I was 20 kooootttt.. almost 10 years ago tu! Hehe..
Haa.. sini kak Hanm yg sgt camera-aware. Tgh tolong students pasang khemah pun sempat dia senyum kat camera kan ☺
After that, the guys went to the nearest mosque for Friday prayers while us girls performed our solat at the camp site. We then had a quick lunch before we started with the programme, which was a hike in the jungles to get to know our local flora and fauna.
Here's Arep and me getting to know our team members..
..and here's the whole lot of us 'imported' from USM! Ohh.. pendek nye sy..
The hike was lead by the forest rangers and the students started their hike by group. Among the memorable places we passed was this bridge or jambatan gantung which terrified some of the timid students and delighted the cheeky ones who purposely jumped on the bridge to frighten their friends haha..
..and the fallen trunk which students had to crawl under..
..while kak Sheena (and other fasis haha..) just jumped over!
Ohhh.. almost forgot to mention. The hike was very steep on the first part of the journey and my leg cramped! Aiyaaaa.. sgt la menyusahkan.. not to mention sakit.. and memalukan hahah.. anyway, my leg got to rest when we arrived at a more flat surface of the hike where some forest rangers were talking about jungle survival while showing us a few trees that could help you if you're stuck in the woods.
They also showed us how to set up a small trap for small animals as can be seen here.
Then we continued our hike. See, sgt steep right.. yg ni pun dah tak as teruk as the first part where I had cramped my leg.
..and finally we descended.
Dan sempat Arep meng'peace' at the camera la wpun kitorg tgh descend ni =p
One of the local fauna that checked on us..
And this pulak the view of the river. Cantik kaaaannn..
Sblm head bck to the camp site, sempat Dr Mail and kak Nab bergambo dlm hutan hehe..
P/S
See how long the hanging bridge was
